Shift Type: Rotation Days/Evenings/Weekends Hours per Day/Week: 7.25/36.25 SUMMARY OF THE POSITION Under the hierarchical authority of the head pharmacist, and the functional authority of the assistant to the head and the pharmacist coordinator of the pole pharmacy, and in compliance with regulations, standards of practice and any other related documents, the person assigned to this position provides technical and administrative support to the pharmacist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care and services. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS The pharmacy technician will be called upon to develop responsibilities according to the following profiles: • Patient care profile: - Support the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care. - Initiate medication reconciliation (MedRec). • Supply and inventory profile: - Collaborate on pharmacy inventory management. - Participate in the updating of the pharmacy supply system database when a new purchase contract or its modifications are made. - Communicate with members of the GAC (centralized purchasing group) regarding drug supply shortages and participate in relevant meetings. • Pharmaceutical Affairs Profile: - Plan the orientation of technical staff and the integration of trainees into the department. - Develop and distribute technical work procedures, job descriptions and work tools. - Collaborate in the development of schedules and reorganize work in the event of non-replaced absences. • Distribution Profile: - Involved in prescription management, drug preparation and service. - Collaborate in the training of technical staff in his/her department. REQUIREMENTS Education: • Must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in pharmacy technology from a school recognized by the appropriate ministry. Language: • Fluent in English and French; • Fluency in Cree is an asset. WORK ENVIRONMENT The Cree Board's pharmacy department comprises 3 hub pharmacies, each supporting 2 dispensaries.
